Faith in Action
Faith in Action at Christ the King
The Faith in Action award scheme is a great opportunity to encourage and inspire young people to get more involved in the community and local Parishes.
It is important to:
- celebrate the faith journey of young people
- celebrate what already happens
- encourage tangible living faith in the ‘real world’
- strengthen links between individuals, communities and organisations
- explore the universal call to holiness
- work for the Good News and the common good
“Faith in action is love, and love in action is service. By transforming that faith into living acts of love, we put ourselves in contact with God Himself, with Jesus our Lord.” [Saint Teresa of Calcutta]
Children in Year 6 are currently working towards achieving their pin badge for their Faith in Action Award. In order to achieve this, they need to collect 20 credits or more through a variety of activities such as leading worship, participating in Masses, fundraising etc. The children have been keeping a scrapbook of their efforts and taken part in their first reflection point with members of the Shrewsbury Youth Mission Team. At the end of the year they will complete a final piece, reflecting on how they have engaged with their work and service to enable them to grow in their relationship with God and neighbour. Successful participants will be awarded their badges by the Bishop in the Summer Term.
Children, please find the link to resources that can be used at home with your families. If you share these with your family and write a reflection about it in your journals then you can have another credit.
