In Year 3 we are all working hard to follow Jesus' example and be the best that we can be. We try very hard to live up to our school motto of treating others the way we would like to be treated ourselves.

Welcome to our Year 3 page where you will find regular updates and information about your child’s learning.

3EJ have indoor PE on a Wednesday and outdoor PE on a Thursday.

3HB have indoor PE on a Friday and outdoor PE on a Thursday.

Please ensure the correct PE kit is in school and labelled with your child's name.

Homework is set every week. Your child will receive one piece of either Maths or English every Friday which is to be returned by the following Wednesday.

In addition, spellings are sent home weekly and will be tested every Friday.

We encourage weekly access to Mathletics and Spelling Shed.

This half term many of us are preparing to make our First Holy Communion. We are very excited and have enjoyed learning all about receiving Communion in this special way, especially during the sessions with our parents.

To introduce our new topic on the Romans, we visited the Grosvenor Museum in Chester and spent the day learning about this ancient civilisation. We got a little wet marching round as Roman soldiers but it was great fun and an exciting start to our new topic.

During our English Lessons we have been reading the story of The Tin Forest and using the images to improve our own descriptive writing. We are also using the text to learn more about recycling and look forward to doing some persuasive writing on it.

In maths we have been learning all about fractions. We have discovered that knowing our times tables really helps us when it comes to finding fractions of amounts and equivalent fractions!

During our RE lessons, we are finding out all about Easter and Pentecost. As well as retelling these important events, we are trying to think about the significance for Christians today.
