Jubilee 2025 Pilgrims of Hope

What is the Jubilee year?

In the Catholic Church, a Jubilee or Holy Year is a special year of forgiveness and reconciliation, in which people are invited to come back into right relationship with God, with one another, and with all of creation. A jubilee year is celebrated by the Church every 25 years. This year's theme is 'Pilgrims of Hope'.

At CTK, we launched our school pilgrimage on Monday 27th January. Over the year we have planned opportunities to respond to God's call to turn to him and to pursue justice, to renew our relationship with God, with our neighbours, and with the earth itself.

Our Mini Vinnies and Faith Leaders have led us in many of our faith activities. We were fortunate to have the Pilgrimage icon in September which we celebrated with the school community then with St John's Infant school. Take a look at the photos of our celebrations and pilgrimage of hope activities on our Catholic Life page.

The Logo

We have explored the significance behind the chosen logo for the Jubilee Year.

Can you see:

Four figures, representing everyone on earth, all different kinds of people from all different places on earth.

What do you think the person at the front is holding? Why are they holding on tightly?

What is beneath them? What does it represent?

Do you have any ideas how we can be 'pilgrims of hope' during this Jubilee year?

The Jubilee Pledge

We are pilgrims of hope.

We walk in solidarity with our sisters and brothers worldwide, sharing challenges and celebrating joys.

We promise to be agents of change, working together for justice, love and peace, locally and globally.

We want to build a fairer world, where every person, and the earth, can flourish.
