Welcome from the Head Teacher, Mrs Procter.
Welcome to Christ the King Catholic Primary School.
I am incredibly proud to be the Headteacher of such a wonderful school, whose results are above national expectations again this year. This reflects the high standards that we set for ourseves and our children. Our school takes children from the parishes of Christ the King and St Luke's. We are a two form entry school that has 428 on roll from 3-11 years. As a Catholic Primary School, we offer the children the opportunity to grow as young people and encourage them to develop a closer relationship with God in an atmosphere of mutual love and respect; we seek to live out the values of Jesus Christ. We promote these values through our words and deeds, recognising that every child is unique and is created in the image of God. We follow our school mission to "Treat others the way you would like to be treated yourself." We are proud to be a UNICEF Rights Respecting School and have representives from each class on our Mini Vinnies and Faith Leader committies to guide us in our faith journey. We have strong links with the Parish and regularly visit the Church as a school.
Our staff provide an atmosphere where children can fully develop their talents and learn new skills. As a school we offer a wide range of sporting and musical opportunities. We have an amazing school choir and the biggest school brass band in the borough!
We are a friendly, caring school with high expectations for all our pupils. Our children are encouraged to explore, discover and question through a range of exciting learning opportunities both within and outside the classroom. At Christ the King we foster a love of reading with our children and aim to ensure that all of our children can read independently by the end of KS1.
At Christ the King Catholic Primary School, we believe that regular school attendance is vital and we work closely with our families to ensure that children attend school each day. Regular attendance improves our children's life chances and has the biggest impact on their ability to learn. We work hard to foster strong relationships with parents and carers. We send home a weekly newsletter so parents are always well-informed about what is happening within our school community. We do believe that the Catholic Primary School experience is a partnership between school, home and Parish- and our door is always open!
