The adventures of Mrs Allen's Class at Oaklands!
Each day, on this page, you can find photos of the exciting activities that Mrs Allen's class have been enjoying at Oaklands. Fingers crossed, the weather stays kind for them!
Mrs Allen's class came bounding into Oaklands ready for their first activity. They worked really well as a team to navigate around 'The Dingle', especially as some were blindfolded! All pupils were very brave as they battled through the cold and the waterfalls (buckets of water). The children have learnt to thoroughly appreciate a lovely, warm shower! We had some games in the annex and then met in the lounge in pyjamas for a hot chocolate before bed. Fingers crossed for a good night's sleep, ready for the activities tomorrow. Check the site again tomorrow for pictures of our day.
As you can see in the pictures below, our day has been very busy! We had two groups underground in caves as the weather restricted certain activities. However, Mrs Procter and Mrs Skelton's group battled through the elements to enjoy as a day of gorge walking. All children returned to the centre saying how much fun their day was despite how cold or wet they were. This evening we have joined together in the annex for a very excitable game of 'Sockey' but we can't pretend that the hockey sticks were any better than Mrs Barker and Mrs Hunter's class! The children were desperate for bed as they have been told if they're up early enough then we'll have chance to fit a morning activity in before they leave. Fingers crossed they will all want an early night for mums and dads tomorrow too!
Our final day at Oaklands, and a glorious day for weather! We started by singing happy birthday to Mrs Hunter, 22 today! After breakfast, all groups went rock climbing in the sunshine and we were impressed by the effort and dedication from all children. We encouraged everyone to have a go and try their best which they did. There were some sad faces as we waved goodbye (even staff) but we can’t wait to get home and tell you all about our adventures!
